Welcome to my Chelsea Diary - jottings and ramblings as we prepare for what will surely be one of the greatest experiences of our lives - exhibiting at Chelsea Flower Show in 2021.

The story so far .......

It was at one of our regular Fairford Flower Collective coffee catch-ups when Tess of Iris & Wilf said, 'Why don't we enter Chelsea next year - its going to be all about sustainability and British flowers? We laughed as the idea of us going to Chelsea was preposterous- but always up for a challenge I volunteered to create some design ideas anyway. A few weeks later we were together again in Beth's cosy kitchen and I presented the three ideas to the team - they were unanimous in their decision of which one we should enter. So we loaded it to the site and didn't think much more about as Christmas was soon upon us and there were wreaths to make and workshops to run. Fast forward to January 2020, and we'd heard nothing so naturally assumed that we hadn't been successful - after all I'd heard on the floral grapevine that they'd received c.3000 entries for the florist classes. And then our What'sApp group lit up - Beth had been sorting the post at home and notice an RHS envelope - she'd first thought it was junk mail - some promotional bumps - but on opening it several days later it was the news that we had been selected. Excitement, terror and disbelief sums up how we felt. The gang came around the next day with a celebratory chocolate cake to have a group hug. The adventure had begun.
