Winter Solstice Elopement at Black Friars Priory in Gloucester
Winter Solstice Elopment at Black Friars Priory in Gloucester
The shortest day of the year, and snow lay on the ground at Black Friars Priory in Gloucester for our winter solstice wedding editorial. This was all about monochrome magic would oodles of textures, linens and silks, furs and fleeces. The bridal bouquet featured pure white roses and sleek black calla lilies whilst the groom wore a dried flower pocket square instead of the usual buttonhole. A square dining table was loaded with flowers and candles and draped in linens to evoke a medieval feast with an illusion wedding cake that looked like stone. For the ceremony set up, a backdrop of open frame floral towers with a harmonious blend of fresh and dried black and white flowers made a real statement, with lots of real candles sending flickering light onto the ancient stone walls. This shoot has been featured in Your Day magazine.
