Alfresco Welcome Dinner for your wedding weekend at Coombe End Manor near Cirencester
With sunnier UK summers on the rise, couples planning multi-day celebrations are increasingly opting for alfresco dining options. This intimate welcome dinner set-up—framed by the impressive architectural doorway of Coombe End Manor near Elkstone—highlights precisely how to style this relaxed yet sophisticated part of your wedding weekend.
As a studio specialising in bespoke wedding florals, creating cohesive multi-day florals is at the heart of what we do. For this event, we set out to prove that welcome party flowers should feel just as curated and thoughtful as the main ceremony arrangements.
Saturated pastel table flowers for a Welcome Dinner at Coombe End
Set against a warm, editorial palette of saturated pastels and vibrant corals, I designed a series of low, flowing floral runners to draw out the delicate tones found in the hand-painted plates and woven placemats from The Luxe Collection. To create visual harmony across the entire tablescape:
-
Warmth & Texture: Earthier accents in the tortoiseshell-handled cutlery were grounded by rich orange blooms and warm copper tones.
-
Lightness & Movement: The delicate lines of the fluted glassware were paired with dancing stems of butterfly ranunculus set in slender, clear glass bud vases to create whimsical movement along the table.
-
Seasonal Brilliance: The design celebrated the best of springtime textures, blending structured garden roses with airy, dancing focal flowers.
Whether hosted on a private estate patio or an open-air terrace in the heart of the Cotswolds, elevated outdoor wedding dining sets a luxurious, welcoming tone for the entire weekend.
Insider Design Tip
Keep your welcome party florals slightly lower in profile than your main wedding breakfast arrangements. Low-profile runners and grouped bud vases encourage natural, easy-flowing conversation while guests mingle on their first night.
Influencer Brand Event to celebrate Jewels lab grown diamonds
Coombe End Manor is the perfect place to host a luxury brand event. Our clients were a new lab grown diamond brand and wanted to celebrate the Wimbledon tennis season with a tennis themed event for social media influencers in the Cotswolds. With a lesson with a tennis pro included, guests enjoyed an alfresco lunch on the rose lawn with tables lined with tennis white floral cloud designs with pops of reds and burgundy - the new brand's colour palette.
Intimate wedding breakfast at Coombe End Manor
For this intimate celebration, we embraced one of the most underrated colour pairings in modern floral design: a soft, sophisticated blend of buttermilk yellow and lavender. I love challenging traditional colour boundaries to create something deeply personal, elegant, and decidedly grown-up.
Whether you are designing an atmospheric intimate party flowers, layering colour and texture is key to transforming an ordinary dining room into an immersive experience:
-
Textile Layering: A pale lavender base cloth provided a soft, romantic foundation, beautifully contrasted by a delicate patterned linen napkin that drew the eye seamlessly along the length of the table.
-
Floral Rhythm: We arranged a series of low-profile Gaia porcelain bowls and running arrangements filled with textural spring blooms, dancing stems, and scented garden foliage. This established a pleasing, uninterrupted visual rhythm across the entire tablescape.
-
Atmospheric Lighting: To elevate the mood as evening set in, the entire table was bathed in the warm, diffused glow of rechargeable cordless table lamps from Pooky.
The result was an effortless blend of contemporary colour theory and classic English elegance—proving that understated palettes often create the most unforgettable atmospheres.
Insider Design Tip
High-end cordless LED lamps (like those from Pooky) have revolutionised event styling. Unlike traditional taper candles, rechargeable lamps won't flicker in drafty venue spaces, blow out outdoors, or drip wax onto delicate linen napkins.
When pairing lamps with low floral runners or porcelain bowls, position the lamp bases slightly behind or between your floral vessels so the light casts a warm glow directly downward onto the flower petals. This illuminates the delicate textures and true colours of your blooms long after the sun goes down!
