CEREMONY FLOWERS - JARGON BUSTING

So you’re engaged , found the perfect venue and have started planning your dream wedding day. And then there’s a shed load of confusing jargon to navigate through, particularly when it comes to the flowers. So here’s a quick run down on the main options for your wedding ceremony florals:

Up first is the MEADOW - clients are crazy for these and we are too. They are freestanding designs that can be used to make a fantastic aisle feature. Plus they repurpose brilliantly after the I Do’s for top table or banqueting table displays. Or pop them at the foot of your table plan sign. There's no where a meadow can't go except on the table itself - much too big to see around!

Next the INSTALLATION. An investment piece for sure but you are only doing this once! We love to take out design inspo from the setting and structures that have already won your hearts. I love installations that feel as if they have sprung up from the surrounding garden and create a floral nest around my couples.

A personal favourite of mine the URN (to the extent that I tend to make these myself and refuse to delegate to one of the incredible florists on my team). I have tracked down the perfect shade of Cotswolds stone so my matching plinths and urns blend with the setting. And I like to make these designs abundantly with loads of big blooms and greenery.

The BROKEN ARCH is a trend that shows no signs of slowing down. And that’s because it’s so versatile. These two floral towers create an informal arch backdrop for your ceremony. We like to make them asymmetrical and wider at the base so it feels natural.

For a more contemporary vibe, the OPEN TOWER is a cool design. We leave some of the frame showing and get sculptural with the flowers. For the adventurous!

And finally the GROUP - a stylish trio of floral designs on different heights. Add drapes for a look that’s bang on the money whatever the season.
