Molly and Matt's rustic luxe wedding at Lapstone Barn in the Cotswolds was a masterclass in how to do elegant neutrals with a white and green floral palette. The UK wedding blog Rock My Wedding got in touch as they wanted to feature this beautiful on their site. Here's the full story.
"Molly & Matt’s Lapstone Barn wedding was actually inspired by a Rock My Wedding editorial shoot! The vision for the day was clear, they needed lots of flowers and wanted that modern contemporary vibe at Recommended venue, Lapstone Barn. Molly & Matt had navy bridesmaid dresses, and statement wedding flowers with meadows, hanging installations, and urns! Designing all those incredible wedding flowers was Corky and Prince Wedding and Event Flowers. They also had Matt’s Landrover to double up as the wedding welcome sign! Molly’s stunning wedding dress is from Made With Love! The wedding band was found through Tailored Entertainment. The save the dates and thank you cards were bought from Papier. "
"We relied heavily on recommendations from suppliers. They are all professionals in their industry and the local area so they have an excellent network! Who better to take recommendations from than someone who goes to weddings every weekend? Flowers were the centrepiece of our wedding so we started with our florist and went from there. We filled in the gaps with online research targeting style, reliability, and price point. When we found out some were Rock My Wedding Recommended suppliers it added confidence for us."
"We're all over a Lapstone Barn wedding! Molly is obsessed with flowers, so the couple went big on flowers and let the barn speak for itself. Molly & Matt wanted their wedding flowers to be classic and have that wow factor! With big white hanging flower bombs and an aisle meadow, we're certainly wowed! All the stationery was made by Matt’s parents and the ladder table plan was also a DIY project. Molly & Matt had to include Matt’s beloved Land Rover Defender in their day, so after bringing the boys, it doubled up as the welcome sign at the entrance! Molly & Matt chose Lapstone Barn as they love the Cotswolds and wanted to find a venue that made the most of the natural landscape."
"Molly & Matt's favourite moment was the ceremony. The couple could feel the love from all their friends and family with personal music, poems and, of course, incredible blooms! Molly & Matt also loved being announced as they walked into their wedding breakfast because everyone just went absolutely wild!
Here's a quick summary of the flowers we designed especially for Molly and Matt's Cotswold wedding at Lapstone Barn.
Bouquets - the white bridal bouquet was a blend of the best of summer blooms with white roses, larkspur, sweet peas, spray roses and agapanthus. For a contemporary twist, the bridesmaids each hand a single variety of flower in their hand-tied bridesmaids bouquets - one had roses, one had sweet peas, one had agapanthus and one had larkspur. The pure white flowers really popped against the dark blue satin dresses. For Matt and the male guests, we opted for an informal boutonnière of white spray roses with some dainty greenery.
The venue flowers were full of drama and charm with displays in the lobby and Snug on arrival and then an aisle of meadow flowers and two huge floral chandeliers. At the head of the aisle for the ceremony backdrop, we created statement urns with lots of wild native greenery as well as white flowers such as hydrangeas.
The reception flowers were kept simple and elegant with bud vases filled with delicate blooms and taper candles. The overall effect was simply stunning.
