Dark and dramatic October wedding with black flowers

I remember the first time that Charlotte and I spoke on the Discovery call about her plans for her wedding at Elmore court - this was a gal with tonnes of style and vision! The brief was glorious - deep and rich florals in shades of plum, burgundy and dark greens with lots of bold shapes and striking textures. And black is Charlotte's favourite colour so the hunt was on for black flowers!

For the reception, the couple had hired a 'Took the Moon and Back' neon sign in a huge moon gate stand and we added a tumbling display of flowers and foliage - it was a real hit with the guests who were all queuing up to get a photo in front of it. And the cake - well it was a piece of pure art although it seems that black buttercream does turn your mouth much the same colour!

The October sunlight proved magical for the couple's golden hour photos around the magnificent grounds of Elmore Court before they came back to the Gillyflower for the party of a lifetime.

"The lovely Fi from Corky and Prince was our florist. I have never been very knowledgeable about flowers, so I went to her with just a vision and a colour scheme, and she expertly guided me through the world of seasonable British florals. Who knew that you could find black flowers?!"

The Wedding Flowers

Charlotte's bridal bouquet was a statement natural cascade that worked brilliantly with her sleek gown silhouette. The bridesmaids were the ultimate cool bride tribe with black asymmetrical dresses and bouquets to complement Charlotte's. The ceremony took place in the main house with a Dutch masters inspired display of flowers at the head of the aisle between the two marble angels, surrounded by candlelight.
