Dinner Party Flowers at Frampton Court
Summer floral tablescape for a retreat finale dinner party

Our American clients host an annual retreat to The Cotswolds to bring together women from all walks of life on a creative and cultural journey. The finale is a magnificent dinner party in the grand drawing room at Grade I listed Frampton Court in Gloucestershire. This dining room is the perfect setting for an elegant yet cosy celebration of new friendships formed and perspectives created. The tablescape was unapologetically floral and seasonal, with low floral centrepieces brimming with Cotswold-grown flowers from our flower farmer at Burford. Scented stocks, larkspur, dahlia and garden roses in soft shades of peach, blush, coral and lavender evoked a Cotswold country garden in late summer.

Lighting is so important for dinner party tablescapes to create that instantly celebratory atmosphere. For this retreat dinner party, we combined slim ivory taper candles in glass candlesticks with Pooky LED table lamps with a green rosehip and velvet shade. The results, layered and flattering lighting that did not impede the flow of conversation.

Birthday Party Flowers in a clear span marquee
Clear span marquee in a private garden in Bedfordshire, UK

This one was a real family affair with three milestones birthdays celebrated with a black tie party in a clear span marquee. The setting was the most perfect walled garden I have ever seen and it was lovely to meet the gardener who created and cared for it. We even snipped a few flowers from the cutting garden to add to the designs.

To create a visual and emotional link with the garden, we created tall vases of native foliage - abundant beech and hornbeam, adding little glass globes and tealights for after dark sparkle. The tables were lined with posy vases - these are much larger than a bud vase and deliver a real floral punch of colour and texture down the tables.

Birthday Party Flowers at a private home in the Cotswolds
Stretch tent florals with chandelier and ikebana pin bowls

A client wanted to mark a milestone birthday with a special weekend celebration at their home in the Cotswolds. The setting was sublime - a old Cotswolds stone manor house and mature gardens. A series of three linked stretched tents created distinct areas for eating, drinking and dancing over the weekend. Our brief - add colour and texture with bright and breezy locally grown flowers.

Food and fine wine was the client's top priority and chefs cooked at open fire kitchens over the weekend. We needed to design a tablescape that was suitably informal, celebratory and size appropriate so there was lots of room for sharing platters for the feast. Ikebana inspired pin bowls in our glazed ceramic dishes were the solution. With colour blocked designs of dahlias and other seasonal stars, these florals were small but mighty! Olive green candles in our matt gold saucer candlesticks added to the rustic luxe vibes.
