Cool and immersive Kin House Wedding for a party-loving couple
Ellie and Sam fell in love with Kin House in Wiltshire and knew it had all the magic ingredients for their wedding. The strong interior design values throughout the spaces, the indoor/outdoor setting and the ability to craft a truly immersive day and night for their family and friends to remember for years to come.
The floral brief was a joy, as we filtered through the couples eclectic design tastes to find a floral style and colour story that was absolutely them. With a shared passion for all things pink, bride Ellie and I immersed ourselves in flower section, whilst groom Sam had a strong input on the table-scape and Kilvert Hall ceiling.
I have to say, I relish briefs like these and clients who have a vision yet are also keen to work with experts to get the best possible design outcome.
The Floral Design Brief
When Ellie and Sam first contacted me, they were a giddy cocktail of excitement and nerves. As a couple working within the fast-paced creative and media industries, they were constantly exposed to high-end visual influences and this shaped their decision-making process . While they were certain about what they didn't want—anything remotely "traditional" or "wedding-ey"—they were less sure about how to define their own luxury wedding style. This is not unusual - for every couple that have a fully developed vision (and Pinterest board to match), there will be another couple that have just the haziest of ideas about their dream day. My tried and tested wedding flowers planning approach works wonderfully which every camp you find yourself in!
We began our creative process by blending two distinct concepts: 'The English Garden Re-imagined' and 'Palm Springs Retro' that I'd developed following our first Discovery call on Zoom. As I often remind my clients, the first Look Book is the start, not the end of the floral design journey with me (click here for more on how I work with you).
"In the lead-up, we were so anxious about not being able to see exactly what we’d be getting (as you are with any florist!), but she delivered far beyond what we imagined."
The contemporary bridal bouquet
Ellie was the ultimate contemporary bride, opting for a stunning gown by leading UK designer Kate Halfpenny. To complement the dress, I created one of my signature maximalist bridal bouquets with large 'Secret Garden' pink roses. These showstopping designs feature supersized roses with their petals meticulously hand-rolled—a technique known as 'reflexing'—to create a sculptural, high-fashion look. The bridesmaids each carried a single Secret Garden rose with their asymmetrical feather gowns.

The bridesmaids each carried a single Secret Garden rose with their asymmetrical feather gowns whilst the guys had my favourite pink spray rose as their boutonnières which really popped against the black tie tuxedo outfits. Even the rain couldn’t damp their party spirits.

Bold blooms for the ceremony in the Garden House at Kin House
The ceremony in the Garden House at Kin saw the couple framed by modern plinth designs that were pure "flower power." These versatile arrangements later transitioned to the Kilvert Hall to frame the dessert table and speech area. I must confess that I am a huge if slightly guilt-ridden fan of Married At First Sight Australia and I tune in every new series to see the show stopping floral displays for the weddings. These plinth designs for Ellie and Sam were inspired by this floral trend but rather than harsh mono-colour blocks, we went for a more subtle design with a colour story built around shades of pinks with some deeper and richer elements such as peaches and corals.
Draped ceiling beams with modern floral installations
The transformation continued as the party shifted from cocktails to dinner in the Kilvert Hall. I've transformed this space many times and it's important to me to bring new ideas to the room rather than repeating previous designs so the finished look is deeply personal and reflective of the clients' passions. While a full-room drape wasn't within the clients' budget, we wanted to celebrate the hall's height. I proposed a bespoke solution: a layered and draped installation across the horizontal beams using warm, light chiffon.
Intertwined with this draping and flowers was a new take on hanging fresh floral installations. We created long, slender floral chandelier featuring foxtail and oriental lilies, gladioli and amaranthus. The individually wired petals that moved like a giant floral mobile. For an unexpected twist of texture and tone, I even incorporated burgundy radicchio lettuce leaves—the perfect "un-wedding" detail.

Client Love Notes
"We worked with Fi for our wedding at Kin House in September 2025, and she was an absolute dream to work alongside. From the very beginning, her personality won us over, she was warm, enthusiastic, and genuinely excited about our vision. From our initial proposal you could see the unusual quirks we had mentioned and how she tried to incorporate these in.
In the lead-up, we were so anxious about not being able to see exactly what we’d be getting (as you are with any florist!), but she delivered far beyond what we imagined.
On the day itself, we barely saw her because everything was handled so seamlessly in the background other than when she came to give me my bouquet which was delivered with a heartfelt hug!
When we decided very late in the day that our wedding breakfast needed something “more” but we were tight on budget, Fi got creative and found a way to make it happen for us.
We couldn’t have asked for a better florist. We thoroughly recommend Fi!"
