Planning an autumn wedding is like being gifted the biggest cornucopia of botanical delight. Sure, I can't get you peonies and the sweet peas have finished but in their place comes incredible dahlias in every hue and form, fascinating seed heads and berries galore.

This is THE season of texture and tone, light and shade, drama and detail. So my advice is to embrace it with open arms. And it doesn't have to be classic autumnal shades of orange and red.

For their October wedding at Elmore Court in Gloucestershire, Laura and Eddie chose elegant champagnes and ivories as their key colour palette with touches of sage green from the eucalyptus foliage and warm ochres from the berries and oak leaves. The aisle was lined with whimsical meadows of fresh flowers and autumn leaves and the marble table at the head of the aisle had lots of candles, bud vases and another meadow.

The bridesmaids wore these stunning chocolatey brown satin dresses and their bouquets really popped in contrast.

For your reception tables, think about lots of candlelight with bud vases filled with flowers, berries and autumnal foliage.

If you're planning for October 2025 or 2026, take a look at Laura and Ed's day at Elmore Court in The Cotswolds for some seasonal inspiration.
